President’s Message

Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to the CIPA website and an exciting new year for CIPA.

The new year brings many new faces to the board and new faces means new ideas and new perspectives. We have an exciting year ahead:

  • We have new faces leading our annual educational seminar. Outgoing president Denise Risinger isn’t going far, she’s just changing hats and, along with Caroline Pitts, are co-chairing this year’s seminar committee as they plan the September 14 seminar.

  • We have a new platform for our website. Thanks to Nichole Byers who researched and worked out the details, our website has gotten a much-needed facelift.

  • We are exploring implementing a CIPA mentorship program, led by Charlotte Lawrence, to connect paralegals, legal professionals or students with experienced paralegals who are willing to share their knowledge and skills.

  • We are looking forward to a NALA Conference that will be held this year in St. Louis (practically in our own back yard).

Please join us. All members, regular and student, are encouraged to become involved. Perhaps you would like to chair or serve on a committee, or help drive membership by participating in planning one of this year’s two social events. Maybe you have a knack for the technical and would like to lend your skills to the CIPA Facebook site or website, or would like to write an article for the newsletter. We appreciate your involvement and contributions no matter how large or small.

I hope you will join us in 2018 and help share in shaping a year that is worthwhile and fun.

Celeste Poole
